SCADA in hybrid energy system management and control for isolated DC micro-grid . Our system addresses the problem of connecting different Energy sourced together effectively, monitoring and controlling of the Hybrid energy system formed by different renewable energy sources. Article in the link can be followed for more information.
For our project we developed a small version of DC micro grid taking power from different power sources (Like solar and wind) and combining these sources together with the help of voltage stabilizing buck-boost converters. After we boot the voltages from different sources to our distribution voltage. We distribute the power for different loads like Households, Hospitals, Schools through dedicated feeders.
Now with the help of SCADA and Sensors we can monitor various system parameters like Generation voltage of different sources, Bus voltage, power consumption by each feeder. all these data will be stored if we need the data for any purpose later.
We also have power storage unit, in case the generated power is more than our demand then we can store power for later use. Now in case we don't have enough power to meet our demand the we connect the storage unit to discharge mode.
than again if we cannot met the demand with the battery connected to the grid, we prioritize the feeders and cut the feeders with lower priorities to maintain continuous supply to highest priority feeder even after that if we cannot fulfill the demand of the first priority than we start searching for feeder whose demand we can fulfill. in case of low system capacity after we check whether we can fulfill demand of first priority feeder and result comes to be negative than we check if we can supply second priority feeder if we can than we continue to supply second priority feeder. if not than we go for third priority feeder and so on.
to implement the DSM in developed system i took typical daily load consumption of Nepal from Nepal electricity authority and than i divided the load profile to the level of my developed system capacity. the obtained demand profile was as follows. for more information on the project article in the following link can be read.
